Thoughts on the soldiers left behind
They are the same. Seb and John were both abandoned by the people most important to them.
They are the same but the common cause of their pain separates them. They can never find comfort in knowing there is someone who’s been through the same thing. Someone who understands. If Seb and John met they could never understand each other. All one could see in the other’s eyes would be a harsh reminder of his own shattered life, and of all that was taken from him because of something the other used to have.
They both form a remaining half of a perfect duo - Sherlock and John, James and Sebastian. All it took was one shot of a gun for each couple to fly apart, edges sharp and jagged and bleeding where it was broken into pieces.
The smooth, seemingly effortless perfection is gone now. Sebastian Moran and John Watson are the same but it hardly matters. In any other case finding a person with the same experience would help them heal. Not this time. Not them. Their lives broke along the exact same line, and two identical halves can never complete each other.
…..
My thoughts exactly. >:l
