So, as I am trying to get back into the writing mindset that I lost over the past year of lame school, I have been thinking a bit about my past stories. There are a LOT of stories that I have worked on, and worked on, and worked on, and then thrown out because I figure out that it’s really lame, etc. And this is true for….most of the stories I have worked on. Usually- I just toss it out and start working on something new. No big deal. But there are 3 stories in particular that I feel like are fairly important to me. Through them, I either had a first or experienced something very cool that really means something to my whole creative process as it stands now.

1. Up top we have Peter and Coven. This story was….well. Very bad. There is a reason WHY I have dropped many stories from my high school years, and this story is a very good example of that. However- this was the first story where the characters, or at least these two characters, seemed alive to me. For the first time, it wasn’t my story- it was their story. And they were telling it to me.
Honestly- that was some crap story that they told me because seriously. It was lame hahaha
But…yeah. They were “my boys”, and that was a big first for me.
2. Here we have Sari and Laban (the poorly drawn bird. on her shoulder. Hint: he’s not actually a bird. He’s a shapeshifter who has disguised himself as a bird for as long as Sari can remember. Kinda creepy now that I think of it.) ANYWAY. This was originally a manga graphic novel. It was hosted on this forum that I was a part of, and, despite my only getting to 40 drawn pages of it, it got a lot of good reviews. A lot for me anyway. Which means that on occasion- I’d have a stranger or two tell me that they LOVED it. Which was slightly bizarre. This story was big for me because I had an audience- something that I’ve never had quite like that.
3. Most recently we have Aaron from Ripper! This is the first story that I ever finished. And finished is not to say I’m done with it- but I got past my 20 page barrier that I was never able to get past until this. The first one that I was able to write from beginning to end. And now I’m going back to write it again. It was also so DIFFERENT from anything I had ever done before. I always did some form of fantasy before this, or at the very least sci-fi- so this was very out of what I thought my comfort zone was. But turns out- it was closer to what I’m good at writing than anything else I had ever tried. I feel like with this story I finally transitioned from creating ok stories, to creating a good one. Not great- but good.
msmandapants asked: Orange, Green, and Black! :D
orange: who is your greatest literary inspiration, and why?
Oh ew. Whelp. Now I have to tell THIS STORY again. Guh. Well I really feel like my greatest literary inspiration is the person who got me aware that it was possible for me to have my own story at ALL. Once upon a time, I was like. 11. Or something. I went to a big family party where I was reunited with this weird cousin person of mine who I hadn’t seen since I was like….7. Idunno. She was really weird. Like, ew. Just like me! We ended up hanging out so much that evening that I spent the night. During the course of that evening- I learned LOADS about her story and I was completely FASCINATED by the whole thing. I had just barely got into reading at that time and stories were just so interesting to me, I had never really realized that I could have a story of my own and write it until Hayden showed me what she had of SoF. I thought that was just so freaking COOL I wanted to do the same exact thing. But really I was competitive so I didn’t want to do the same thing- but I wanted to do it BETTER. I didn’t get though that that meant actually working on one story for a long time. I’d just start a new one after every visit with Hayden and then forget all about it 2 weeks later. Logic.
But. Yes. It all seems pretty silly to me now, with me realizing how dumb 11 year old me was, but really, Hayden telling me all about SoF even at that age was SUCH an eye opener for me. My whole brain was just BLOWN AWAY by even the concept of writing/creating, and I grasped onto it at that point and never let go!
green: whose style do you imitate the most?
I don’t even know. I’ve never set out to write like anyone in particular. According to this site, I write like Mark Twain though!
…I don’t know what to think of that hahaha.
black: your dreams! be published, be a critical success? what?
In all honesty- I don’t even really know! I tend to not aspire for things I don’t really deem to be possible. I know what level I am writing wise, and how the market is for this kind of thing- so I’m definitely not going for career or anything like that. Nooooo. In fact- the only thing that has got me thinking that I might publish/be good enough to publish is that my grandma who knows EVERYONE passed the prologue of Ripper along to one of her buddies. Who is an agent. Who immediately told her that he’d get me a good agent the moment I wanted to publish.
So.
That option I guess. I still don’t know what to think of it- and this happened quite a while ago. Really my dreams are- whatever happens, happens! I am totally content with just writing and sharing with friends and family. Grandma wants me published though hahaha And if that happened- that’d be totally cool too!

Again, why I love the internet. It’s nice knowing you’re not alone.
For C and A.
The “shit asexuals hear” portion isn’t nearly extensive enough, actually, but it should give you some idea. I’m not ace myself, but I’ve held my BFF’s hand under the dinner table while she patiently tries to explain to ignorant friends that no, she is not broken and defective, as well as when she tries not to throttle people who say she isn’t actually oppressed at all by our heteronormative society. Sigh. People. How long would I have lived my life wondering about this if I hadn’t had access to the internet? Its not like its discussed in schools or has any exposure in literature or media…
This is fantastic.
Yes, it is!
